Electro Savings Credit Union, Maryland Heights, Mo., has awarded $1,000 college scholarships to three of its members. Receiving the scholarships were Lea Ruppert, O'Fallon, Adam Boehmer, and Michael Ringkamp. Students were selected based on their academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and a written essay on what they hope to accomplish through furthering their education. Space Age Federal Credit Union, Denver, Colo., has honored the top 5th Grade girl and boy at Lowry Elementary with the first annual Lowry Eagle award and trophy. Presented in conjunction with The Lowry Optimist Club the awards recognize high academics and good citizenship. Recipients Marisol Calderon-Santacolomo and Dalton Berridge also received a $50 share savings account at Space Age Federal Credit Union. Wichita Municipal Federal Credit Union, Kan., has awarded seven very deserving young people with $500 scholarships. Applicants were selected based on grade point averages, extra curricular activities, community service, career goals, letters of recommendation, and written essays. The 2005 scholarship recipients are: Amanda Armstrong; Lori Coykendall; Mary Dix; Sarah Mauck; Nicole Mercer; Naresh Singh; Bruce Vines; and Adam Whittredge. BMI Federal Credit Union, Columbus, Ohio, has presented the 2005 Dick Pierce Memorial scholarship to the following students: Corey Evert, Patrick Graves, Samantha Wallace and Briana Williams. Each scholarship recipient was awarded $1,000 toward their college or university tuition. Financial Partners Credit Union, Norwalk, Calif., has awarded $1,000 scholarships to three Cerritos College students who are striving to live the American Dream. The recipients of the annual scholarships for business majors at the college are: Yun Jung Park, Sandra Ochoa and Ricardo Reyes Massachusetts Credit Union League, Marlborough, and the Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC) has recognized ten 7th and 8th grade students for writing winning essays in a statewide contest. The essay written by Marea Cashman, a student at E.N. Rogers Middle School in Lowell, was selected as the best in the contest. The awards ceremony also included a State House tour and an opportunity for students to meet with their local legislators. Cashman received a $500 United States Savings Bond. The remaining finalists each received a $250 United States Savings Bond. Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, Houston, has recently awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to students within the Cy-Fair district. Awards were based on academic achievement, community involvement and financial need. The recipients of the scholarships include: Sarah Bardwell, Stephanie Clark, Amy Golightly , Greer Sims, Natalie Pawelek, Xuandung Phan Tranool) Anna Frankel, Megan Ericson and Alissa McCants. Northern Star Credit Union, Portsmouth, Va., has awarded five graduating seniors with the W. Frank Wright Memorial Scholarships. The recipients are: Jessica Brannan, Chantel Cherry, Tiffany Vann, Amanda Banks, and Walter Adams III. The W. Frank Wright Memorial Scholarships are awarded based on academics, community involvement, extra-curricular activities, and financial need.
