ANAHEIM, Calif. – Partners Federal Credit Union has become the third CU to announce it is deploying the Compliance Commander network traffic monitor from Intrusion Inc. The $240 million CU will use the device to detect and block unencrypted transmissions of non-public information – including addresses, Social Security and account numbers and PINs – through all the CU’s outgoing data ports. John Christopoulos, vice president of IT at Partners FCU, the credit union for Disney employees and their families, says the Compliance Commander solution will help ensure Partners meets internal, NCUA and GLBA regulations for data privacy. “We were looking for a compliance system that could automate the monitoring and ultimately, protection of our 38,000 members’ personal information,” he says. The first two credit unions to adopt the device, which typically sits behind the firewall to integrate with the institution’s data network, were Texans CU in Texas and Pasadena FCU in California. “Intrusion engaged with Partners at multiple technical levels to ensure Compliance Commander would pass the high-bar test required for selection by this financial institution,” says Ben Bittle, director of product management at Intrusion Inc. in Richardson, Texas, a provider of regulated information compliance, identification and privacy protection products whose clients include the U.S. Army.
