CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Fort Campbell FCU President John H. Moorhead retired with much more than a plaque. The CEO's last day leading the $211 million CU was June 29. At a reception honoring his retirement, Clarksville Mayor Don Trotter presented Mr. Moorhead with a proclamation declaring June 29, 2005 as John H. Moorhead Day in the city of Clarksville. "Mr. Moorhead is committed to aiding his fellow citizens and has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist countless citizens of all walks of life who have benefited greatly from his expertise, friendship and guidance," said Mayor Trotter. Moorhead joined the Army in 1959, and served 24 years on active duty, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 1983. After a brief career as a real estate professional, Moorhead joined the staff of the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union in January, 1987 where he held positions as the Mortgage Loan Manager and Executive Vice President. He was selected as CEO in 1992. During his 13 years the CU grew from $65.8 million to the $211 million it is today, and the number of potential members increased from 60,000 to more than 249,000. "We thank you, John Moorhead, for all that the credit union accomplished under your guidance and leadership. We honor and pay tribute to your many successful years of service to members, staff, and volunteers of the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union," said JoAnn Dunn, Vice President of Lending.
