ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After 18 years, First Financial Credit Union President/CEO Jeff McDaniel is retiring. McDaniel has worked for the credit union since 1973. Under his leadership the credit union has swelled to more than $290 million in assets while providing services to underserved areas of the state. McDaniel also served as chairman of the board of directors for the Credit Union Association of New Mexico for five years and acted as trustee of the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee, for two years. In addition, he headed a committee devoted to updating the New Mexico Credit Union Act and helped secure passage of the Credit Union Modernization Act by state legislature. He also served on committees of NAFCU, CUNA and the Rocky Mountain CUES chapter. Ben Hayward from California Credit Union will be filling McDaniel's shoes.
