LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Fireman’s Credit Union is now offering end-to-end, single-session online account opening and funding from CashEdge Inc. The solutions – OpenNow and FundNow – provide enrollment, authorization, validation and risk-managed funding for prospective members, and helps reduce applicants dropping out during the process, which occurs in about 95% of new online account applications, according to New York-based CashEdge (www.cashedge.com.) “We’ve already witnessed an influx of new member accounts completed online and haven’t begun to promote the new service,” says George Kings, vice president of information services at $687 million LAFCU (www.lafcu.org.). “Our next step will be to use data captured by OpenNow/FundNow to generate automatic replies to newly approved members about their pre-approval for select loan products and discounted rates,” Kings says.
