FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Midwest America Federal Credit Union says it has saved about $5,000 so far, 34 cents at a time, since it began using an e-statement solution last fall. The $327 million CU says about 2,400 of its 66,000 members are accessing their statements through the single sign-on eStatements Plus platform from COWWW Software (www.cowww.com) of Belmont, Mich. The credit union says it recouped its investment in the first month and that five to eight members a day now are signing up to use the service. "Our members enjoy getting their statement data quicker, and being able to access it anytime they want is a real plus, too," says Ken Roehrs, assistant vice president of IT at Midwest America FCU (www.mwafcu.org). "As for archiving, we're up to seven months right now, but we're slowly building up to three years." COWWW Software products now are in use at about 450 financial institutions, the company says.
