WASHINGTON – Winners of the "Capitol Hill Competition" of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run were recently presented with their trophy by sponsoring organizations. Attending the trophy presentation were (from left) Liz Santos, Congressional Federal Credit Union; Josh Heird (member of the winning team, "The Green Milers," made up of staff from the office of Rep. Mark Green, (R-Wis.), Murray Chanow of NAFCU; Kaitlan Tauber (winning team); Ryan Osterholm (winning team captain, holding the "Capitol Hill Competition Cup"); Linda Gualtier of CUNA; and Charlie Mallon of Congressional FCU. The Capitol Hill Competition is a "race within a race" of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom run, and features members of Congress and their staffs. In the 2005 run more than 500 runners participated. That is a record number of participants. The Competition is jointly sponsored by CUNA, NAFCU, Congressional FCU, and United States Senate FCU. The "Green Milers" team posted a winning, combined time of 3:26:15.
