FAIRBORN, Ohio – Wright-Patt Credit Union has teamed up withConsumer Credit Counseling of the Miami Valley (CCCS) to helplocals here get a handle on financial education. Terrie Krumal hasjoined the Wright-Patt CU team as a certified counselor and willprovide services ranging from one-on-one credit counseling andhousing counseling sessions to reviewing credit bureau reports withclients. “We have long been proponents of CCCS. They have helpedmany individuals avoid the worries of debt and the long-term damagethat bankruptcy can cause,” said Wright-Patt Vice President/ChiefBusiness Development Officer Gary Easterling. “We are pleased to beable to add this additional financial education tool to the menu ofvalue-based services we offer to our member-owners.” According toEasterling, with bankruptcy law changing with the passage of theBankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 thecredit union's continuing focus on financial education, along withconvenient and accessible credit counseling, will go a long way tohelping credit union members successfully navigate the financialpeaks and valleys in their life.
