MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group has added another piece to its executive team, a focus of CEO Jeff Post. The company has hired Robert Trunzo to the newly created position of Executive Vice President-Sales. Trunzo, who will report directly to Post, most recently served as executive vice president with Frank F. Haack and Associates, a Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs (HRH) Company. According to CUNA Mutual, HRH is the seventh-largest insurance consulting and brokerage firm in the country. Jim Gowan, Chief Officer Sales and Marketing and David Cry, SRVP-Credit Union System Relations, will report to Trunzo. Trunzo joins EVP, Chief Administrative Officer Dave Lundgren, and SVP, Corporate Strategy David Sargent as new executive additions in Post's brief tenure. On the labor front, there has also been progress. According to CUNA Mutual, company and union leaders had two very productive negotiating sessions in early June and have made significant progress. The spokesperson said the two sides are in agreement on all major aspects of the contract, though there is still work to be done. In another sign of progress, CUNA Mutual has lifted its cutoff date for approval of its latest contract offer. It previously told the union the contact must be ratified by June 6, but that deadline has been removed. The union concurred that significant progress had been made.
