HAMILTON, N.J.-The "Friends of Mary" team is back and better than ever. For the third straight year, representatives from various New Jersey credit unions joined in the annual National Multiple Sclerosis Walk sponsored by the Mid-Jersey Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The team is organized by Mary A. Moulds, vice president of the New Jersey Credit Union League, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001. "Friends of Mary" raised more than $10,000 for the cause this year-up from $9,000 the year before and $4,000 the first year. In addition, Peoples First Choice FCU of Glen Rock, N.J., donated t-shirts for all 100 walkers on the team; Hamilton Horizons FCU of Hamilton Township, N.J., donated hats; and Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU of Middletown, Pa., sponsored a team luncheon to celebrate the day's victory. Several other credit unions, including Raritan Bay FCU, FAA Technical Center FCU and Bay Atlantic FCU, used their own marketing skills to raise money for the day. In total, almost 1,000 individuals hiked the 6.5-mile course.
