Ten Qualities of a Good Employee

I am completing 47 years in the credit union movement, seven as a Federal Credit Union Examiner, and the last 40 years as CEO of The Firestone Federal Credit Union. At times, our younger staff members don’t realize the sacrifices made by so many that enable them to have the great jobs with top pay that they now have. My thoughts on what a good staff member should be are outlined below: 1. I feel I am being treated fairly. 2. I feel that the credit union’s pay scale is good. 3. I have empathy and want what is best for my coworkers 4. I love or at least respect my coworkers. 5. I have a good attitude and it is not going to change. 6. I recognize the contribution that others have made and are making towards the credit union’s success. 7. I want to cooperate fully with my staff members and do my share of the work. 8.
