ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Richard Myles Johnson Foundation's Beacon Award, which recognizes financial education programs that provide information to the credit union community and the general public, is now accepting nominations. Awards will be presented at the Second Annual Beacon Awards Gala on October 23, 2005, at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Nominations must be submitted by August 15. "Through the Beacon Award, the Foundation reaches beyond the credit union movement to encourage individuals, corporations, and organizations of all kinds to educate citizens on the value of fiscal responsibility," said Marie Alonzo, chair of the Beacon Award nominations committee, and board chair of Arrowhead Credit Union. "In `shining a brighter light on financial education,' the Foundation benefits all citizens of California and Nevada by honoring those deserving recognition." Liberty Enterprises will be the presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year.
