GLASTONBURY, Conn. – South Carolina’s seventh-largest credit union has become Open Solutions Inc.’s 591st credit union core processing client. South Carolina State Credit Union, a $350 million, 89,500-member institution, will convert to The Complete Credit Union Solution platform as well as use a host of other OSI solutions, including CRM/business intelligence, ATM and multi-channel management products, payment and loan origination solutions and voice response. “We wanted a solution that could help us better understand our members’ financial needs,” said Rick Hammond, SCU president. “While we were not unhappy with our current processor, we were concerned that the legacy- based system would, one day, be incapable of supporting our plans for growth.” Open Solutions now has 591 core processing credit union clients and 1,455 credit unions using its ancillary products, the company says. SCU currently is a USERS Inc. core processing client, according to the 2004 Credit Union Technology from Callahan & Associates.
