PHOENIX - With NBC covering the National Lacrosse League Championship Cup Finals May 14, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union will be getting a nationwide "heads up" plug. That's because the Phoenix CU won the right to put the Desert Schools' logo on player helmets of the Arizona Sting, champion of the League's West Division, competing in the finals being held in Toronto. "Desert Schools is the only credit union to sponsor multiple national league teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Coyotes and Arizona Sting," noted a press release. "While most partnerships include traditional elements, Desert Schools stepped outside the box to create an innovative relationship with the Sting." In addition to on-field and in-stadium signage, the logo placement will give Desert Schools "national exposure as the game is played on NBC," said the release. "We are proud to support the team in its first trip to the finals. It's an accomplishment for such a young team in a sport so new to the Valley," said Rondle K. Amstutz, senior vice president and chief information officer of DSFCU.
