ATLANTA – Tallahassee, Florida-based Southeast Corporate is utilizing VSoft's eDesk Branch Item Capture solution to help facilitate its Check 21 efforts. VSoft's eDesk allows credit union personnel, using capture devices with a small footprint, to capture items at the branch. As items are captured, they can be electronically sent to a central processing location throughout the day. This allows even distribution of staffing hours as the personnel in the central site process the images throughout the day. This also helps avoid a telecommunications traffic jam that many corporates and CU item processors were concerned about initially with Check 21. If all images came in at the end of the day, it could put a strain on telecommunications and staffing. "By capturing and exchanging images at the branch level, VSoft's solutions will allow our members to capitalize on opportunities inherent in the Check 21 legislation," said Kay Moon, Senior Vice President, Southeast Corporate. On the return side, the VSoft Returns solution is an image-enabled application Southeast will use for processing outgoing return items. The system identifies the bank of first deposit for each returned item. This automated process eliminates errors and improves productivity. Cash letters and summary sheets can be printed for transit items. VSoft's Returns automatically posts files and updates the research archive.
