HARAHAN, La. – The Louisiana Credit Union League has formed an alliance with Newtek Business Services, Inc. to bring an array of small business services to the state’s credit unions. Newtek enables credit unions to offer business loans and merchant processing to members who own a small business. Its subsidiaries include Newtek Small Business Finance, which is also a SBA lender and Newtek Merchant Solutions, which provides electronic payment processing. “Small business services represent the most significant area for credit union growth, according to recent reports,” said Anne Cochran, LCUL president/CEO. “Our relationship with Newtek will allow Louisiana credit unions to quickly, easily and safely enter the small business services arena.”
