In last month's Data Processing & Technology special report (CU Times, March 23), a new study of credit union core processing solutions by the TowerGroup was featured. I was pleased to see that our CUSO, Share One, Inc. was included. At least I was pleased until I saw how we had been categorized by the report. According to the TowerGroup's report, we no longer have a service bureau, and we only offer services to "small" credit unions, defined as having under $50 million in assets. I would like to correct the study on both of these points. We have a service bureau (ASP) and have had for a good number of years. In addition, we recently sub-licensed our NewSolutions software to another service bureau in California. Secondly, although we do have customers that fall in the "small" asset credit union category, our average customer size is over $90 million and our largest is just short of a billion dollars. This is not the kind of quality and accuracy I have personally come to expect from the TowerGroup. One cannot help but wonder if the other vendors' information in the article is similarly flawed.
