DEL MAR, Calif. – The National Association of Credit Union Chairmen is set to unveil what it takes to be an effective credit union chairman during its Leadership Development Seminar June 12-14 at the L'Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa. The seminar will be led by Dan Clark, president of Florida-based credit union consulting firm Dan Clark Associates. Clark has extensive background in providing consulting, training, publishing and video services to credit unions, leagues and associations. He is also an author of two books – Reinventing Credit Unions and Who's Driving Credit Unions? The seminar focuses on the many areas in which a credit union volunteer must be knowledgeable while providing opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer discussions. Topics range from addressing vision-what it is, who has it, and how to achieve it and defining the proper role of the board and CEO in the corporate culture, to leading your board to greater board meeting results in less time and how to spot micromanagement and deal with it before it poisons progress. Participants will also take home their choice of a model governance policy manual on CD-ROM, ALM-101 training program on CD-ROM or one of Clark's books.
