JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Sandy Branson, president/CEO, Missouri State CU, was confirmed April 20 by the Missouri State Senate as the new Director for the Missouri Division of Credit Unions. State Sen. Carl Vogel (R-6), the senator for Branson’s district, testified to the Senate Gubernatorial Appointments Committee about Branson’s experience and qualifications for the position. The committee recommended approval to the Senate, who confirmed Branson the same day. She’ll begin her new position April 25. Nominated by Gov. Matt Blunt (R), Branson replaces John Smith, a Democratic appointee, whose last day was April 1. This marks Branson’s second time as Division director. She also served from Jan. 1987-March 1993.
