BETHPAGE, N.Y. – Small business owners have another account option to turn to at Bethpage Federal Credit Union. The $2 billion credit union recently launched Bethpage Step-Up Business Checking, an operating account alternative for businesses currently using sweep accounts and money markets to earn interest on business funds. With the account, members do not need to transfer money into overnight mutual funds or money markets. Bethpage has also introduced its Not-For-Profit Business Banking accounts, which aim to support investment in the community and families that rely on not-for-profit organizations for valuable services, according to the credit union. To help these organizations maximize returns, the Not-for-Profit Business Banking accounts offer no monthly service fees; higher rate of return on deposits; checking with no minimum balance requirement; unlimited account transactions; low loan rates on term loans, lines of credit and commercial mortgages; a Visa check card; packages for employees and members; and free online banking with bill payment. As Long Island's largest credit union, Bethpage serves more than 130,000 members. It had previously partnered with Farmingdale State University of New York to offer free seminars on a number of business start-up topics.
