Hudson River Community Credit Union, Corinth, N.Y., has donated $37,211 to benefit the Glens Falls Area Youth Center. Proceeds raised will be used to support the Youth Center’s Education, Recreational and Life Skills Programs. Open year round, the center provides youth in need with such free services as daily meals, tutoring, job seeking, recreation and community involvement. First American Credit Union, Beloit, Wis., has donated a total of $3,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network. In addition to the standard jeans-casual day or pizza party fundraisers, this year President/CEO T.L. Barnes challenged the staff with a promise to let them shave his beard if they reached a very aggressive goal. Barnes admits it’s been more than 20 years since he’s been clean-shaven. Alliance Credit Union, Fenton, Mo., has raised over $1,900 for the Children’s Miracle Network in just under six weeks during the Links of Love fundraising effort. Each of the credit union’s four branches sold red paper chain links ($1 each) and hearts ($3 each) to staff and members. The many hearts and paper chain links adorned each of its lobbies and visually demonstrated the staff’s and members’ commitment to CMN. Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., Operations & Technology Center staffers “Go Red” as part of the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day for Women. The second annual national event helped raise awareness of heart disease as the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S. Both men and women at Altura wore red to become part of the effort to reduce heart disease in America’s women. HarborOne Credit Union, has donated $5,000 to help kick-off the Brockton Interfaith Community fundraising campaign.
