CHULA VISTA, Calif. – For the fourth time, North Island Credit Union has been awarded the 2004 Peter Barron Stark & Associates Award for Workplace Excellence. The Workplace Excellence Award is presented based on the results of a 100-question employee opinion survey distributed throughout the company. The survey measures employees' responses in categories such as communication, values, work environment, motivation, honesty, integrity, ethics, commitment to quality and service, benefits, and compensation. Award recipients must receive an overall favorable response of at least 80% on their 2004 Employee Opinion Survey. "North Island Credit Union believes that employee satisfaction drives member satisfaction," said North Island CU CEO Michael Maslak. "We place value on every employee as an individual, and provide each with a career rather than just a job. Because the Peter Stark award is based solely on employee feedback, it is a particularly significant honor that validates our `people first' corporate philosophy."
