E&A Credit Union, Port Huron, Mich., has recently celebrated its 70th anniversary. From its early start in Blanche Smith's kitchen, the credit union now has over $150 million in assets and serves some 32,000 members. Anniversary specials and 1935 trivia contests willrun throughout the year. In addition, E & A CU has broken ground on its new headquarters slated to be finished by mid 2006. Pacific Community Credit Union, Fullerton, Calif., has celebrated turning 50 with a Rock n' Roll theme that included photos with a Marilyn Monroe look alike and soda-fountain styled ice cream bar. Some 225 members and guests danced the night away after over 90 door prize winners were announced. To commemorate the occasion, PCCU commissioned local Fullerton artist Anthony Trasport to create a painting which depicts 50 years of the credit union's philosophy of "people helping people", community involvement, and service. The painting was also used as the cover for Pacific Community Credit Union's 2004 Annual Report. ESL Federal Credit Union, Rochester, N.Y., has announced a three year commitment to support the the United Way of Greater Rochester's annual Day of Caring. The volunteer event, which will now be called the ESL Day of Caring, will involve a record number of volunteers-more than 26,000 people-engaging in community service projects for area not-for-profit organizations.
