PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Cindy Morgan, marketing manager at New England Federal Credit Union in Williston, Vt., was named marketing professional of the year at the 2005 Diamond Awards ceremony at the 12th annual CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council Conference. Rhonda Summerbell, senior manager of university relations at University Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas, was named business development professional of the year. And Tinker Federal Credit Union, Oklahoma City, Okla., was named the “competition’s best” for it campaign “We Get It.” The honors were among more than 300 “diamond” and merit awards presented at a Friday, March 18, dinner at the Riviera Hotel here. Awards were presented in categories ranging from annual reports and radio and television to political action, statement inserts and Web site marketing. The winners were selected from nearly 1,400 entries nationwide. Other winners included Allegacy FCU, Winston-Salem, N.C., for best use of art; the California Credit Union League for best association entry and TLC Community Credit Union, Adrian, Mich., for best use of humor, winning for its radio series entitled “Duct Tape Can’t Fix Everything . . . Home Equity Loans Can.” Chocolate Bayou Community Credit Union in Alvin, Texas, and Pennsylvania State ECU tied for the best practices award in public/community relations. Rivermark Community Credit Union in Beaverton, Ore., won the best practices award for business development. Larry Jones, vice president of marketing for ORNL Federal Credit Union in Oak Ridge, Tenn., was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
