WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Encore Merchant Services and Encore Card Services, both connected to the Encore Electronic Service Cooperative, have reported picking up four new credit union clients. Encore Card Services said it has added the $89 million AFL CIO Employees FCU headquartered in Washington, D.C. The credit union cited Encore’s staff and knowledge base as a primary reason it made the processing switch. No one was available from Encore to comment on which processor had previously handled the credit union’s cards. Three other credit unions joined the cooperative’s Merchant Services arm which allows Encore member credit unions to offer credit and debit acceptance services to their business members. The three new credit unions are the $55 million Department of Labor FCU, the $26 million GSA FCU, and the $77 million Transit Employees FCU. All three are headquartered in Washington, D.C.
