WASHINGTON-Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley (D) recently recognized a credit union in her home state for its dedication to the armed services. Berkley had an extension of her remarks read into the Congressional Record last Wednesday, noting Nevada Federal Credit Union's "efforts to support our troops abroad by providing them outstanding financial services." "Patriotism can be demonstrated by soldiers and civilians alike," she noted. The credit union is refunding all savings and checking related fees for members serving in a designated war zone, according to her statement. "This benefit represents an excellent example of what we at home can do for those who put their lives on the line, and I hope that other financial institutions will follow suit," Berkley stated. She concluded, "I applaud Nevada FCU and its President and CEO, Brad Beal, for their ongoing commitment to their customers, this country and to those who bravely serve it."
