NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Doreen Abbott, president/CEO of Memphis Methodist Conference FCU, Jackson, Tenn., was appointed by Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Kevin Lavender as the new assistant commissioner of the Credit Union Division. Abbott will start her new position April 1. In her new position, Abbott is responsible for managing the Credit Union Division's operations, as well as overseeing the examinations of each state-chartered CU. Abbott has more than 10 years experience in the financial services industry. Along with her responsibilities at Memphis Methodist Conference FCU, she is also the Credit Union Auditor at Chattanooga-based Hiram H. Hollified, CPA. Abbott also serves as vice president of the Jackson Chapter of Credit Unions, and as secretary and treasurer of the United Methodist Credit Union Association.
