KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Charles Cornelius has been named EducationalCommunity Credit Union's (ECCU) new President and CEO, effectiveFebruary 1, 2005. Cornelius has been an employee of ECCU for 25years and was promoted from the executive vice president position.Cornelius has an expansive background in managing all aspects ofthe credit union and overseeing the administrative activitiesincluding the areas of human resources, marketing, accounting,loans and data processing. He was also responsible forparticipating in ECCU's long-range strategic planning as well asthe management of the credit union's operations. Cornelius has beenactive in many credit union professional affiliations and hasserved the greater credit union family as the vice chairman of theKalamazoo Chapter of Credit Unions, as well as serving as a boardmember of the Credit Managers of Kalamazoo and as a member of theService Centers Corporation Advisory Committee. He holds aBachelor's of Science degree from Western Michigan University witha major in accounting. Chuck, and his wife, Dianne, have two sonsand reside in Kalamazoo.
