ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has announced that it is accepting nominations for three distinct competitions for credit union officials in 2005. “Winners in these competitions represent the elite among credit union leaders and innovators,” NAFCU Awards Committee Chair Dave Gilbert, chair of Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU, stated. “Each year we recognize the quality of true excellence in the credit union community and learn who among us are on the cutting edge.” The Annual Awards Competition includes Federal Credit Union of the Year, Professional of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Winners, divided into two asset groups, will be recognized at a special ceremony during NAFCU's 38th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, July 13-16, 2005. NAFCU's marketing awards offer seven different promotion categories each for credit unions with above and below $150 million in assets. They will also be recognized at the Annual Conference. Finally, NAFCU bestows two awards for grassroots activism. The Paul Revere Award is given to the credit union grassroots activist of the year, and the White Hat Award honors the credit union that has helped raise the most money for NAFCU/PAC. Winners are recognized during NAFCU's Congressional Caucus in September. Entries for the awards program are due March 14, 2005 and may be submitted online at www.nafcu.org/awards. Credit unions without Internet access can obtain an entry form by calling NAFCU's Member Service Center at (800) 344-5580. The award recipients are chosen from among NAFCU members.
