DOVER, Del. – Dover Federal Credit Union has decided it might not be a bad idea to keep track of employee hours spent on charity and volunteer work and let the community know about such contributions. "We were pleased to find we provided 300 hours during 2004," said David Clendaniel, president/CEO of the $190 million CU. A yearend press release sent to the local media cited the hours spent on groups ranging from the Boys and Girls Clubs to an American Heart Association Riverwalk. Apart from demonstrating CU performance in the community, the volunteer work is an important tool in serving "as a team builder to strengthen bonds among employees, getting to know each other and work closer together," said Clendaniel.
