PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest Corporate converted to a federal charter effective Dec. 31, 2004. "As we have grown through the years to a regional corporate and providing services nationally through our business partnership with other corporate credit unions, we felt it was best to become federally chartered to reflect this strategy," said Northwest Corporate FCU President/CEO Kathy Garner. As part of the move, Northwest Corporate is changing its name to Northwest Corporate FCU. There are now 13 federally-chartered corporates, and 16 state-chartered.
