VALLEY FORGE, Pa. – A move into commercial processing for credit unions and record growth made 2004 a good year for USERS Inc., the Fiserv unit says. The core processor converted or signed 16 new credit unions in 2004, and among its product introductions was the Commercial Integrator solution, which includes a number of deposit, lending and cash management functions credit unions need to expand into that market, USERS officials say. Meanwhile, USERS' Project Management Group – which the company says is a group of industry veterans who serve as an extension of a credit union's staff – completed 75 projects, including numerous upgrades and mergers. Enhancing Internet solutions also was a focus in 2004. USERS has more than 210 credit unions using its suite of Internet products, which now include real-time check ordering, personalized e-mail alerts and payroll and ACH distributions, the Fiserv unit says.
