TAMPA, Fla – GTE Federal Credit Union (GTE FCU) has donated a record breaking $88,000 to the United Way. Working under the credit union's motto of "Together We're Better," GTE FCU organized a number of activities from bake sales and raffles to an ugly T-shirt auction to raise money for those less fortunate. With relentless hurricanes and other natural disasters, it was of particular interest to the credit union to help those hit the hardest by Florida's damaging storms. Through United Way's "What Matters" campaign, GTE FCU was able to surpass its contribution goals. In addition, the GTE FCU Charitable Foundation matched employee contributions dollar-for-dollar.
