INDIANAPOLIS – FORUM Credit Union is making headway on bringing more jobs to Fishers, an area long overlooked for business growth. Florence Brown, vice president of operations at the $822 million credit union, serves on the Fishers Economic Development Commission, which recently named Mike Booth as its first executive director. The commission, formed in 2003 as a joint venture of the Fishers Chamber of Commerce and local government agencies, aims to bring better-paying jobs to the community through business tax incentives and strategic development plans. FORUM CU is also doing its part to woo businesses through the recent opening of its 700 seat, 7,000 square foot, $25 million conference center. Since opening on November 1, 2004, four businesses have already held meetings there and several weddings and trade association conferences have already been booked for 2005.
