WESTBROOK, Me. – Newly-elected Maine Senate President Beth Edmonds recently paid the Maine Credit Union League an hour-long visit and used the occasion as an opportunity to meet with the League's President/CEO John Murphy; Governmental & Public Affairs Manager Jon Paradise; Director of Governmental Affairs Quincy Hentzel; and the League contract lobbyist, Ed Pineau. Sen. Edmunds' visit was the first of a series of meeting the League plans to host with leaders in the Maine House and Senate from both parties. Edmunds called her relationship with Maine's credit unions “a love affair for how they treat people and serve the people of Maine.” She expressed her appreciation to credit unions for the help they've provided her and intend to continue to provide the senators over the next two years. She also told CUs she looked forward to working with them over the next two years on legislation that will benefit consumers. -
