RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – With a new adopted son taking priority in his life, nine-year California Credit Union League veteran Chris Kerecman, federal governmental affairs vice president began work in September as senior vice president of business development at the California Credit Union League. Kerecman said he accepted the new position to allow him more time to spend with his family. While he was most recently associated with CCUL where he began working in 1995 as director of regulatory affairs, Kerecman's involvement with credit unions pre-dated CCUL. Prior to working with the League, he was at NCUA as a White House Schedule C employee for former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton. He began work at the agency in 1990 serving as NCUA Board member Bob Swan's chief policy advisor. In his last year there, he opened and ran the NCUA's Office of Community Development as its director. The California League has made several position changes in its advocacy area since Kerecman's departure. In September, Kelly Purcell, formerly federal legislative affairs manager, was named acting director of federal governmental affairs. Earlier this month, Bob Arnould, who has worked at the League since 1995 in charge of its advocacy programs and most recently worked as VP of state governmental affairs, was promoted to SVP government affairs, a new position.
