BROOKFIELD, Wis. - Fiserv, which has the biggest stake of the credit union industry's data processing business, gave advanced notice of CEO Les Muma's retirement. Muma,60, announced in October that he plans to retire in June of 2006. Over the years Muma has helped grow Fiserv's footprint in the credit union space, having led Fiserv's acquisition of EDS' former data processing division last year. Fiserv now has seven CU data processing subsidiaries. Muma co-founded Fiserv with George Dalton in 1984. Muma will also leave the Fiserv Board when he retires. Fiserv has formed a board committee to find a new CEO, and speculation is that the new CEO will come from within Fiserv.
