HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – First Entertainment Credit Union has tapped Hollister, California-based brand strategy/creative design firm Redbeard Communications to provide members a unique entertainment-themed check series. “Our entertainment industry membership is very media savvy, they are a pretty hip group, which requires a more sophisticated style of communication – the clich Hollywood approach just won't work here,” said First Entertainment CU Vice President of Marketing Roy MacKinnon. “This check series is a smart execution that will hit home with our members.” Designed by Redbeard, the check backgrounds feature surreal Hollywood landmarks- from a spotlight that takes the place of the sun as it shines down over the Hollywood skyline and “crop circles” of a musical score, to film reels resting on the Hollywood Hills. “At first glance they appear very similar to the check styles that most people are accustomed to seeing – graceful landscapes, pretty flowers, etc. But we've subtly integrated an entertainment industry twist into each check design – so ultimately, once the member gets it, it should resonate with them, and hopefully generate a smile,” said Redbeard President Gregg Hoffman. First Entertainment CU has worked with Redbeard on creative initiatives since 2001.
