INDIANAPOLIS – With the kickoff of the holiday season some 35 area credit unions are gearing up to sell Riley Hospital's Holiday Cards. Designed by patients at Riley Hospital, the cards feature each "artist's" name, school, photo and diagnosis on the back. Proceeds from the sales of the holiday cards go directly to the "Light Up a Child's Life" campaign at the hospital. Specifically, funds are used for things that make a children's hospital different from a hospital used by the general population – things like play therapy, tutoring, and a closed-circuit television system. Developmental advocacy is also a big part of "Light Up a Child's Life." "Participating credit unions in Indiana helped raise more than $10,000 for Riley Hospital through this program last year, and with the support of so many credit unions and credit union members, we are on track to raise at least that much this year," said Kay Neidlinger, vice president of communications for the Indiana CUL. A list of credit unions and cities where cards can be purchased can be found at www.icul.org.
