WASHINGTON – The Federal Trade Commission has opened for comment proposed approaches for determining a "fair and reasonable" fee for credit scores under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Enacted on Dec. 4, 2003, FACTA amends the FCRA and requires, among other things, that nationwide consumer reporting agencies provide consumers with a copy of their credit scores, upon request. The FTC notice was published in the Federal Register on Nov. 4. Comments must be received by Jan. 5, 2005.
