MADISON, Wis.- CUES has announced that USA Federal Credit Union President/CEO Mary Cunningham; Pacific Marine Credit Union former President/CEO Ludovico De Carlo and Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union President Robert Harvey, Jr. are the latest Hall of Fame inductees. The CUES Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to CUES and the credit union movement. Cunningham has worked in credit unions since graduating college, starting as a receptionist and rising to the role of executive vice president after just 11 years. She became president/CEO of CUNA Credit Union, Madison, Wis., in 1995 and served at the $240-million, 42,000-member credit union for six years before moving to her current position in September 2001. She now leads USA FCU with $675 million in assets, 63,000 members, 12 U.S. branches and 13 overseas branches. Cunningham also serves as vice chair/chair elect of the National Credit Union Foundation Board and a member of the Filene Research Council. She also has served on CUES’ board of directors, including a term as board chair. De Carlo died in March 2004. He served as the president/CEO of Pacific Marine Credit Union, Camp Pendleton, Calif., since 1975. He was very active in the credit union movement for 29 years, serving as a board member of the WesCorp Supervisory Committee, the Financial Service Centers Cooperative, Inc., and the Credit Union Cooperative Systems, Inc.; and as delegate of the California Credit Union League; and as a board chairman for the Credit Union Mortgage Corporation. In addition, he served on the Task Force Committee for Defense Credit Union Council and, from August 2003 until his death, he was a member of the board of directors of the Defense Credit Union Council. Harvey has served as the current president of Seattle Metropolitan CU for more than a decade. He has been in credit union management for more than 20 years, serving as the vice chair of the Washington Credit Union League (WCUL) Government Affairs Committee, a member of the Filene Research Council and a board member and marketing committee chair for the African American Credit Union Coalition. He currently serves as vice-chair on the board of the WCUL and vice-chair of WesCorp.
