BROOKFIELD, Wis. – Fiserv said it now has over 3,000 clients for Internet banking. "We have moved through many phases with the Internet – from hype to reality and, now, to a growing acceptance," said Fiserv COO Norm Balthasar. According to TowerGroup, the number of online banking households is expected to reach 42.5 million by 2007. Fiserv said exactly 3,034 clients, mostly financial institutions, are using its Internet banking products. Fiserv has seven credit union data processing subsidiaries.
