HARRISBURG, Pa. – eCU Technologies, the technology CUSO of Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union, is offering credit union programmers a new middleware product to help them develop applications to integrate with the Symitar core system. Called PowerLink XML, the software allows programmers to work with Symitar's application protocol interface, SymConnect, using only Microsoft .NET or XML coding. "PowerLink XML is middleware that allows credit unions to hire any type of programmer, which lets them jump in right away working with Symitar's system. It's also perfect for a programmer who wants to develop an application but doesn't want to build the entire foundation," says Robert Burger, chief technology officer for eCU Technologies and PSECU. The middleware includes such features as tracking and monitoring tools and logs, email notifications, SymConnect messaging. The first release, now available, works with XML. The next release, planned for February, adds .NET capability.
