AUSTIN, Texas – More than 280 runners and walkers competed in the first Credit Union Texas Twister Run on Oct. 30 and helped raise $50,000 for the Children's Miracle Network Sponsored by the Texas Credit Union League and patterned after the successful annual 10-mile credit union-sponsored Cherry Blossom Run in Washington, D.C., the event included a 10K (6.2 miles) run/walk and a kids' fun run. Held on Halloween weekend, many of the participants sported costumes. "The event was a family affair and participants of all ages took part in the fun," said Jackie Anselmo, event chairperson and vice president of Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, Austin region. "We were so pleased with the turnout and the amount of money we raised for CMN. Hopefully we can build on the success of this event for years to come."
