FORT BELVOIR, Va. – More than 60 business partners and community representatives turned out for the launch of Fort Belvoir FCU's new small business services program. Among the attendees was Brian Gagnon, president of Newtek Business Services, Inc., who attended the recent appreciation luncheon. Gagnon introduced Fort Belvoir FCU's merchant processing and small business loans to the attendees. Newtek formed an alliance with CUNA in early 2003 to assist credit unions with member business loans, SBA loans, underwriting and other related services. The $189 million credit union also presented a donation to Fort Belvoir's Army Community Services for educational resources for their military spouse vocational training program. Fort Belvoir FCU serves more than 22,000 members.
