COLUMBIA, Md. – Mike Marschall, who has worked at the Maryland Credit Union League for six years, most recently as chief operating officer and general counsel, has accepted a position at the Tallahassee, Fla. law firm of Williams, Gautier, Gwynn and Deloach. His last day with the league is Nov. 24. Prior to working in his current position, Marschall was executive vice president and director of government affairs for MDCUL. When former Maryland League-president Bob Steil's contract wasn't renewed in April 2003, Marschall was chosen as the acting president and worked in that capacity for most of the year. The president/CEO's spot was eventually filled by Mike Beall. Describing Marschall as having been “a terrific, committed advocate for credit unions during his tenure with MDCUL and instrumental in the success of the organization,” Beall said he would miss Marschall's friendship, support and counsel at MDCUL. MDCUL Chair Rick Stoll echoed Beall's comments, saying “his expertise and friendship will be missed not only by me but all the credit unions in Maryland.” He called Marschall “a true gentleman and professional.”
