SCHOLARSHIPS

SRP Federal Credit Union, North Augusta, S.C., has awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships during the 2004 CSRA College Night. CSRA College Night provides 3,155 students the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from over 170 colleges and universities. SRP FCU awarded ten $1,000 scholarships to registered juniors and seniors. Scholarships were drawn at random throughout the evening. Point Mugu Federal Credit Union, Camarillo, Calif., has awarded a total of $16,000 Youth Achievement Award scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Each of the 16 recipients received a check for $1,000. Students were selected based upon a blend of criteria, including: grade point average, number of hours contributed in community service, quality of community service, school involvement, letters of recommendation from counselors, and essay responses. Point Mugu FCU has awarded a total of $70,000 over the past seven years. Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Gaithersburg, Md., has awarded two college scholarships to deserving students. Ian Glasgow a MAFCU Young Executive Students member receieved a $2,000 scholarship and Bert Tondo received a $2,000 Next Wave Club scholarship. Both students were selected for their response to essay questions. Antioch Schools Federal Credit Union, Calif., has awarded four scholarships sponsored by its Visa program to deserving seniors at two local high schools. This year’s recipients of the $500 scholarships include Michael Rivera and Anndria Romo from Antioch High School and Allison Hibbard and Lindsay Goettsch from Deer Valley High School.
