ARLINGTON, Texas – Security One Federal Credit Union has tapped area high schools to make a memorable grand opening of its South Arlington branch. The event kickoff included Bowie High School cheerleaders and its award winning drumline and the local Seguin Starline dance team and drumline. "The community here is very involved with the schools and it just made sense to showcase the local talent here as part of our grand opening," said Security One FCU Corporate Communications/Training Manager Sheleah Hughes. "It helps members here see us as a vital community partner." The South Arlington location is the second for Security One FCU. To reinforce the community partner image the approximately 6,400 square-foot branch designed by the HBE Financial Facilities firm, features an open floor plan complete with greeter desk, full-service teller area, tech area, ATMs, drive-thrus and a training room that is open to the public to host functions including educational business luncheons. Hughes says the bright open space and design elements invoke a feeling of safety and reassurance. Security One FCU spread the word about the new branch via a media mix of print, movie theaters and the Internet. "We lucked out because the same week of our grand opening the Dallas Cowboys announced they were moving to Arlington, so we had a 25-foot football shaped balloon out front and created this tailgate atmosphere complete with GMC trucks, face painting and hot dog carts," said Hughes. "The turnout was great. We handed out about 450 hot dogs and traffic has been very steady in that branch."
