WASHINGTON-House Financial Services Committee Chairman Mike Oxley (R-Ohio) welcomed Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-Pa.) to the committee recently. "I congratulate Jim on joining our team and look forward to working with him on issues that are important to his constituents in Pennsylvania's 6th Congressional District," Oxley said. "It is clear from Jim's service in the Pennsylvania General Assembly and now in the House that he brings a wealth of valuable experience to the Financial Services Committee." Gerlach was appointed to the Committee by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to fill the vacancy created by Congressman Doug Bereuter's (R-Neb.) resignation from Congress. Prior to serving in the House, Gerlach served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly House and Senate respectively for 13 years. He received his juris doctor and bachelor's degrees from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
