DETROIT – There appears to be no let-up by the Big 3 automakers in incentives to attract consumers to finance vehicles purchases through them. Last month Ford Motor Co. said it would match the six-year, no-interest loans GM planed to offer during the last three days of September on select 2004 models. But Ford's offer lasted for five days – Sept. 26-Sept. 30 – on all 2004 models. Meanwhile, DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group also planned to launch an advertising blitz at the end of September. Chrysler's program offers no-interest loans for five years on most 2004 models, and customers who lease or finance those vehicles through Chrysler's finance unit are eligible for cash bonuses of $1,000.
